Two Secrets To Weight Loss That May Surprise You!
For some reason this week I have the appetite of a herd of elephants. Really, it is just horrible so I am employing a couple of my favorite if not unusual weight loss tips that are helping me a bit. Thought I would throw them out there for you to see if maybe they might help you too!!
Pinching Away Those Cravings-Literally
Looking for an ancient Chinese secret to help you fight those cravings? Try pinching your nostrils or earlobes for 10 seconds and those cravings will pass (I tried this and it worked for me-but don’t pinch too hard ). Apparently the nostrils and earlobes are acupressure points that help to suppress cravings.
Eat a pit a pat of butter. No kidding! It may not sound delicious but it works as an appetite suppressant. I have a spoonful and it makes me feel full. Actually, I kind of like the taste although the texture is kind of funky.
Give these a try and let me know what you think. So far so good for me!
p.s. I am still working on my vitamix 5200 post. It is the best machine on the planet and I am actually becoming a healthy cook!
p.s.s. I am so far behind so I am sorry to everyone but will catch up soon I hope with commenting.

I will give the pinch a try too. I found that acupressure and acupuncture were helpful to me when I got injured...so it's great to know about this craving-busting acupressure trick :)ReplyDelete
i'll try the pinch, haven't tried it at all.ReplyDelete
i will try the pinch..anyway i surely love it because i love eating whatever it is..heheheReplyDelete

Somehow I can't imagine Heidi with the appetite of a herd of elephants! The butter starts a hormone trigger to tell you that you're full...olive oil works the same way. A little olive oil with pepper, garlic, oregano to be soaked up with some bread before a meal should help you to feel full faster and eat less.ReplyDelete
I'll try the ear thing.
My middle child loves butter! She'd eat it out of the tub if I let her. Great tips.ReplyDelete
I will give the pinching a try when needed!ReplyDelete
I've found if I can control the amount of starchy carbs, keeping my intact low and go a little heavier on protein I completely eliminate cravings...but as I'm sure you can guess starchy carbs are my downfall!
that butter thing sounds gross...ReplyDelete
the butter thing is so funky sounding. i don't know if i could do it. but i can sure try the earlobes/nostrils thing... thanks for the tips, heidi.ReplyDelete
Oh! I'm going to definitely try the earlobe pinch when sitting in my extremely boring training class tomorrow! I sit there thinking about food!ReplyDelete
I've heard about this. I think this is how acupuncture for weight loss is supposed to work. I'll have to try this.ReplyDelete
I've never heard of the pinching technique. I can usually resist cravings anyway but making them dissapear would be fantastic.ReplyDelete
I like butter on bread and pancakes, but I'm not sure of the taste of just butter gliding in my mouth. I guess I just have to try it to find out, huh?ReplyDelete
Have a great weekend,
Hmmmm i am going to try the pinching technique next time I crave the old diet coca cola. An update on my status.ReplyDelete
About 4 yrs ago an ex girlfriend of mine bought me an itailian leather belt from italy with my initials on it (it was very cool). Unknowningly she estimated my waist size considerable smaller than its reality (she gave me a 32- I am more like a 36 maybe 34).
Yesterday I reached for a familiar belt that I had been wearing recently, didnt think much of it and put it on. It seemed rather tight all day. Today when reaching for the same belt realized that I had indeed grabbed the italian 32" belt!
Your encouragement and tips are to be central to this accomplishment!
I think I'll try the pinching, but probably not the butter. Have a great weekend!ReplyDelete
My grandfather used to eat a bit of butter with his dinner. He would put a teaspoonful on his dinner plate and eat it with his meal. It used to gross out all of us grandkids ... but maybe he knew something we didn't know!!! ;-)ReplyDelete
I had heard of the pinch before but hadn't heard of the butter. Seems interesting and worth a try. Thanks Heidi!ReplyDelete
I will surely gonna try the pinch.ReplyDelete
thanks for the wonderful idea Heidi. You really do have beautiful things going on in your blog.love it, love it, love it! oh did I mention I love it? hehe.

Willy wants to know if he can put the pat of butter on a big ole biscuit.ReplyDelete
Thank you so much Heidi for all your help and kind words you are a lovely lady.ReplyDelete
On another note ... I too seem to have gained a few pounds over the Christmas holidays. (I'm not even greedy! Lol.)
One thing that may interest the readers of your blog - this is just an observation. I used to work with a chap who could eat and eat and eat and never gain a pound. What he did do that was different to me though was - firstly he never ate anything in one go - it would take him at least half-an-hour to eat a cake as he would peck at it - a series of small mouthfuls then he seemed to be oblivious to it for five to ten minutes then he'd munch some more. The other thing that he did - almost continuously was fidget. He would tap his feet - I am convinced this must have burnt up the calories more so than a long and laborious work-out.
I think really although none of us wants to admit it - the answer to getting rid of the extra pounds is to eat more slowly and to move more frequently.
Marching on the spot is supposed to be excellent ... left right left right left right ..........
I'm supposed to be ironing at the moment but that doesn't seem to burn up anything other than scorch the fabrics!!
Thank you Heidi, for your kind comments on my blog. You are certainly most deserving of the award, as I know your blog helps alot of people with healthy eating tips, recipes and a healthy lifestyle. I enjoy stopping by to see what you have to say! Take care,ReplyDelete
