I have two cats myself and I agree they are a great stress relief. I love petting my little blind female cat and hearing her purr. Cats and also dogs help us to de-stress. Playing with them also help us forget whatever problems we have momentarily . I've a female friend who's just like you. She always bring home homeless cats although her husband is OK with it. You need to find just the right number of cats in order to maintain balance in the kitty universe. I have a little girl who probably should've been an only kitty. She was stressed out by the other kitties, had accidents in places other than her cat box, which then began to stress me out. She now lives in her very own kitty condo, and is quite content.
