My name is Heidi and I am a mom who is trying her best to get the health thing down. I started this blog so that I can pass along all the great things that I learn everyday on damage control for our wonderful bodies. It is tough to keep up sometimes with all the things going on in our daily lives so hopefully some of the helpful hints that I provide can make your life easier and healthier. I welcome your comments and tips as well! I am a vegetarian, animal rights advocate and avid animal rescuer.

Health Nut Wannabee Mom Soul Bared-Kind of Scary But Sometimes The Truth Hurts

If you are a loyal reader of this blog or entrecard dropper you will probably notice that my posts have been a bit scattered and my drops not quite so consistent. I am sorry and hope to be back on track soon. Things have been a little tough lately and I am going through some confusing times. I am like a cat and will land on my feet but the interim is hard and I am trying to figure out day by day how to move forward in a positive way. Don't worry as I always somehow come out on top and will this time too but have had some bumps and potholes on the road of life lately

Fortunately I am an independent and strong person and really believe that the things that hurt us the most are the things that we learn the most from. I really just thought that by forty I would have been ever so slightly more clever and smart enough to not get myself into these things in life . Oh well, it is what it is and now here I am learning some hard lessons again but very inspired that this will all make me a stronger and better person.

I am trying to catch up and get back up to par and hopefully soon will be right back where I was if not better.

A little inspiration-(it is one of those quote book times in my life)

Fall seven times, stand up eight-Japanese proverb

"I will love the light for it shows me the way. Yet I will endure the darkness for it shows me the stars." Og Mandino

"We are still masters of our fate.We are still captains of our souls." Winston Churchill

"We are the choices we make." Meryl Streep

"Happiness is not a state to arrive at, but a manner of traveling." Margaret Lee Runbeck

Another great thing in my corner is my mother (thank you mom) always told me that regardless of what happens you have no choice but to keep going, to not only survive but to thrive. I have always embraced that and know that whatever happens you cannot give in to that feeling of throwing the covers over your head and not getting out of bed. You have to get out of bed no matter how much you don't want to, you have to face whatever you are dealing with-there is no other way if you want to conquer whatever is hurting you. So, I will get up each day and keep going, figuring it all out and somehow I know inside that everything will be okay. If you are having hard times in your life just know that it will be okay and just keep going. All will be well.....

thanks for your inspiritational quotes Heidi, I wish you well, glad to know despite the tough time, you keep on moving, and have the right spirit. Like you, I believe that things that hurt us helps us actually become better persons from all the learnings we learn from them.

Heya Heidi,

Long time no stop by on my part (so sorry) but I must admit your blog is one of my favorites.
I think in these uncertain times were all kinda "going through" is the best way I can describle it, so keep your head up, and if ever you want to co-miserate with a stranger write anytime, I've found it's sometimes easier to chat with people who don't know you or expect anything from you.
On a different note, reading your post helped to encourage me to begin my own organic coop

Hope to see you around again soon.

You are a very strong person, Heidi. My thoughts are with you, and I know you'll be okay. Lots of hugs!
Truly inspired! Thanks for the nice share. At times we are so busy that we don't even take time out to learn from our failures & realize the reasons behind it. But if motivation is there one can really achieve.

Heidi. . . .very good quotes. . . . it seems that we all tend to not blog when life is not perfect. . . . realize that you have some friends who may never see you, but do care. . . . keep on putting one foot in front of the other. . . . get out of bed when you don't think you can. . . .realize that as much pain as you feel now. . . . . you will push through. . . you will be stronger. . . .and much much wiser.

My father always told that God never gives us anything we can't handle....It's helped me through some rough times and I hope it helps you also. Take care! :o)

Hope everything gets better :(

That last part reminds me of an old Buddhist passage, "Promptness is crucial in leading a victorious life. How we start each morning determines that days victory or defeat. It is always important that we resolve to win in the morning, and begin our work with an energetic and refreshed spirit. We mustn't forget that this is the secret to continual success. We live in a tumultuous age, and in such times, swift action is the key to success and overcoming your setbacks." That might not help, but it helps me when im having problems with stuff.

actually this comes at a good time for me. There are days when I feel just like not getting out of bed and sometimes I wonder how people can keep getting dealt blow after blow and expect to go on and on...but we have no choice. We must. Sometimes it's hard but really in the end, we'll have to eventually get up and move on. It reminds me of something my grandfather used to say. He was a Baptist minister. He used to say "You don't sit and wallow in the mud. You get up and clean yourself off." Well, those words have stuck with me all these years.

Hi Heidi, I don't really know what you are going through exactly, but I'm sure you will get through it!
Here's two quotes for you...

"The way I see it, if you want to see the rainbow, you got to put up with the rain" - Dolly Parton

"Look inside you and be strong, then you'll see the truth that the hero lies in you" - Mariah Carey

At a time when you are needing inspiration, you just provided a very inspirational post for all of us. Your mom is one smart lady and it's obvious she raised a strong daughter so I wish you the best as you deal with your current issue. Hang in there Heidi!

Sorry to hear you are going through a tough time. It's great you have your mom and I'm sure you have good friends to talk to also. I'm forty also and went through some horrible times a few years back when my baby died. Once you are on the far side of whatever it is that has made you feel unbalanced you are so much stronger and you realize that you can get through just about anything - it gives you a power over your life.
I appreciate your being so transparent and telling us that you are having a hard time right now...that things are tough...you will be very much in my thoughts...and this too shall pass...thank goodness for 'MOM's'!!!

Hello Heidi,

As you know, we all go through those rough spots in life, but every single day, we learn, we grow and get stronger. My brother always told me, don't ever be ashamed of where you've been.

Just keep that wonderful attitude, bright outlook on life, love in your heart and you'll be just fine! :-)

Health Nut:

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I have gone through some bad times in life myself, so I know how rough it can be - gut-wrenching at times. Things just happen and it's never easy. Now I hate to sound trite, but my dearly departed old friend Tony used to say, keep on truckin. Simple, but those three words have carried me through the worst times imaginable. So land on your feet kittycat, and keep on truckin. We'll see you when your ready.

meanwhile...

Happy trails.
Sending you some sister strength, Heidi. Reading that you are going through such turmoil almost brings a tear to my eye, simply because I know what a sweet, loving, positive person you always are.
Keep your chin up, do your best to keep it moving, and I'm sure you'll get through this!
Hope things work out soon! :)

Hey, Heidi, sorry to hear that you've got some challenges, but I can see that you're a strong willed person who has a good head on her shoulders; in other words, you will figure out how to deal, get by, do the right thing. Sometimes life tosses us curve balls and we have a hard time finding ways to get by, but somehow, through determination and faith, we manage.
Good luck with things.
(you can always watch one of my goofy videos for a laugh to take your mind off things)

peace,

Heidi, I trust that all will be well soon. Today you will be in my prayers.
I haven't been posting much lately, either.
Btw, sometime ago I noticed that you no longer follow out of my hat...apologies if something offended you, understanding if it was just one too many things to keep up with.
Take care <><

As the adage goes "Mothers know best..." That's very true. Keep the faith. Whatever obstacles in life you face, know for a fact that He has put you there for a reason.

Godspeed!
