Mom, desperately trying to get the health thing right! I started this blog so that I can pass along all the great things that I learn everyday on damage control for our wonderful bodies. It is tough to keep up sometimes with all the things going on in our daily lives so hopefully some of the helpful hints that I provide can make your life easier and healthier. I welcome your comments and tips as well! I am a vegetarian, animal rights advocate and avid animal rescuer.

Vegetarian Lunches And Snacks For Children-My Guest Post

This is such a compliment to me that Dr. Nicole Sundene of Kitchen Table Medicine asked me for some suggestions on vegetarian snacks and lunches for children. Her blog is one of the most popular health blogs on the net and she is an incredible person and resource for all things good and healthy. Since both of my children are vegetarians (as am I of course) I gave her some of their favorite treats and snacks that keep them happy and healthy. Your child does not have to be a vegetarian to enjoy and appreciate these snacks and lunches that my girls love so please stop on over at Kitchen Table Medicine and check out my guest post and browse around Dr. Nicole's site-it really is amazing. Thank you Dr. Nicole! You have no idea what an honor it is to be a guest blogger on your site.

Thank you Heidi for your great practical tips. You are an inspiration to everyone. We should work together more often. That was fun, and I promise to get it up sooner than three months next time. Yikes. Well now that the site has been updated and we are Digg proof hopefully it won't crash anymore. Lesson learned. Thanks for posting about this on your site.

Wow, that was indeed a very varied vegetarian diet, Heidi. Thanks for sharing. I am not 100% vegetarian, but I do not think I will have problems if I will become one as I like all kinds of veggies :)

Great article! I love the idea of encouraging children to become vegetarians, and lunches and snacks would be a fantastic way to start. :-)

That's a great site! And I like to eat all those food listed for children! Wholesome and healthy : )
I read your post over there and some of those foods sound pretty good.

I'm one of those odd people who only like whole wheat breads(I've never like white flour anything)and I've never really liked meat either...except for bacon and liver.

I'll have to check out a Veggie BLT. I've never heard of veggie bacon.

Gosh...you really do have a genius for creating simple (simply delicious that is!), quick, and healthy snacks! Loved 'em all, but the whole wheat tortilla snack really stood out as something I'd instantly love!

Health Nut:

Good or you. One of my biggest gripes with the public school system was that they were stubbornly still teaching the food pyramid to our innocent children. Criminal in this enlightened age. I'm out of touch with the public schools now, but I hope they have changed to a more healthful curriculum. The only food pyramid I want to see is round, red, and tastes like a delicious tomato.

Happy trails.

Don't judge me I am a meat eater! However, good post none-the-less.

I am running over now to check this out. I'm a vegetarian but my children are not. My daughter wishes to be and avoids meat like the plague.. she gets what it is and wants nothing to do with hurting animals. So, this is exactly what I've been looking for to help curb my anxiety over packing her healthy school lunches with enough protien to keep her balanced! Thank you thank you!
